What's in it for me as an apprentice?

This is your chance to have it all; you can get creative, learn great skills, work with interesting people in an exciting industry, win awards and earn a minimum of £95 per week. As a qualified hairdresser or barber the sky is the limit for your career; you could own your own salon, work in television, film or theatre and work the hours that suit you and your lifestyle. This is a skill that is at the ends of your arms and will stay with you forever.

An EASI apprenticeship allows you to learn and earn straight away. There is no substitute for a commercial environment so you will be employed in a working salon/barbers whilst working towards your NVQ Level 2 (hairdressing or barbering) either by attending one of our dedicated training centres on a fortnightly basis or through our enthusiastic and professional Assessors coming out to your salon supporting you in the workplace. You can expect to achieve your NVQ Level 2 within 1 to 2 years. Following this you are able to continue on to achieve your NVQ Level 3 (Hairdressing) this is the targeted qualification to be considered a professional hairdresser and will develop you in not just your technical skills but also improved customer service and salon management. No previous experience or qualifications are necessary to start the Level 2 Apprenticeship program and best of all there are no course fees.

What's in it for me as a salon owner?

Salons taking on an apprentice can expect to gain a valuable team member, who assists the existing salon team, under supervision. The Apprentice, with your support, will learn your personal preferences as well as having training, support and assessment from EASI to the NVQ requirements. This means there is no need to unlearn bad habits, having trained to the highest EASI standards. You will receive regular updates and newsletters from EASI providing all the important information on industry and regulation changes as well as the latest news on EASI. In addition a dedicated member of the EASI team will come and visit you every 10-12 weeks to review progression. To further support the progress and development of your Apprentice why not consider qualifying as an Assessor.

How is training implemented?

Our approach to learning gives the Apprentice comprehensive practical and theoretical training in our dedicated training centres whilst supported by the training in salon. A qualified Assessor from EASI visits the salon on a regular basis to offer support to the learner in any way they wish.
