Train as an Assessor

Now that you are a fully qualified hairdresser, what next?

If you love nothing more than the buzz of seeing an Apprentice light up when something clicks into place then the TAQA (Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance) Qualification might just be for you.

Becoming an Assessor is a big responsibility as you develop and nurture young talent providing them with sensitive and constructive feedback through formative and summative assessments.

In the words of the fabulous Sophie Hilton “You have a social responsibility to train assistants. Someone trained you. Someone made you who you are. Someone stayed late for you when they could have made better money elsewhere. Where are your morals? Why are stylists cashing in and choosing not to train? Grow this industry. Pay it forward. Be a good person”. We couldn’t say it better ourselves.

So if you want to “pay it forward”, TAQA is the perfect place to start.

Learners on the TAQA course need access to two Apprentices working towards their Level 2 Diploma Hair Professional or Level 3 with EASI Hairdressing Academy. If you do not currently work with any EASI Apprentices this is something we can arrange for you but would require a bigger commitment of time.

Funding Options

TAQA courses run every year and course fees will be discussed upon application. Please contact EASI to find out more about the TAQA qualification.

Can be used to formally assess practical skills in the salon but is also the first step in the journey of becoming a trainer.

What will you get out
of the course?

EASI delivers the TAQA qualification (formerly known as A Award/D32) to help qualified stylists develop their skills and take the next step in their career as an assessor. Many of the Learners we have trained as apprentices continue their learning with us – and some have even stayed with us once TAQA qualified and have become EASI assessors.

The TAQA qualification takes approximately 12 months to complete and successful candidates achieve a license to assess trainees practical work in a salon environment. The qualification is achieved through a mixture of classroom delivery (normally three half days), in-salon visits, professional discussion and written assignments.
